ViceVersa Tools Updates EMLX to HTML Converter With Preview Step and Multi-Source File Selection

A new version of ViceVersa Tools' EMLX to HTML converter adds a preview step for checking folders and messages before conversion, along with the ability to pull files from more than one drive in a single job.

NEW DELHI, India – September 14, 2026 — ViceVersa Tools has released an updated version of its EMLX to HTML converter, adding a data preview step and multi-source file selection to the tool it uses to turn Apple Mail EMLX files into browser-readable HTML pages.

An EMLX file is Apple Mail's format for storing an individual email, and like other client-specific formats, it isn't something a browser or another mail program can open on its own. That becomes a problem whenever a message needs to be reviewed, filed, or handed off outside of Apple Mail. ViceVersa Tools built its EMLX to HTML converter to solve exactly that, writing EMLX messages out as standalone HTML pages that open in any browser, with no dependency on the original mail client.

This release updates that tool rather than replacing it. The conversion workflow now includes a Data Explorer step, letting a user preview folders and individual messages before running the export instead of converting blind. The application also now supports pulling files in from more than one drive or location within a single job, rather than requiring every source file to sit in one place first. Underneath both changes is an updated conversion engine, which the company is distributing as version 2.0 of the tool.
The conversion itself still works the same way it always has: one direction only, from EMLX to HTML, with no path to rebuild an EMLX file from HTML afterward. ViceVersa Tools describes it as an archive export rather than a mailbox import, meant to produce a fixed, readable copy of a message rather than a file that feeds back into a mail system.

That combination continues to suit the same recurring situations. Records and filing teams use the tool to keep a browser-readable copy of Apple Mail correspondence for compliance purposes. IT staff use it during cleanup work, converting old EMLX exports into something that doesn't require Apple Mail just to check what's inside. And individuals use it to share a message with someone who isn't on a Mac or doesn't have an EMLX-compatible client at all.
Using the updated tool comes down to four steps rather than three: load the EMLX source files, review them in the Data Explorer, set HTML as the destination, and run the conversion.

"The preview step came out of people wanting to check what they were converting before committing to a full job, especially when files were coming from more than one place," said a ViceVersa Tools spokesperson. "Letting a job pull from multiple drives at once removes a step people were doing manually before."

The tool runs on Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 8, and 7. A free trial of the updated version is available through ViceVersa Tools' catalog installer for anyone who wants to test the new workflow before purchasing a license.
