On December 6, hundreds of runners came together at Runners Village in Karakapattu for the region's toughest trail ultra-running event, the fifth edition of Ultribe Paderu. Visaka Trail Running Association organised the event. In the event, the participants tackled distances from 10km to 100km through dense forest, rough roads, and coffee estates in the hills of O.Paderuru. Many participants said it was very fun and beautiful running through the forest.
The ambition of the event was to experience running through nature, to challenge, and discovering oneself. Registrations were managed by iFinish, powered by Timing Technologies, with very smooth participant verification, onboarding, route maps and more. The route maps were mainly focused on highlighting the beauty of nature in the Eastern Ghats. The race categories – 10 km, 25 km, 50 km and 100 km – cater to a wide spectrum: from casual trail enthusiasts to hardened ultra-runners seeking a brutal test of stamina.
Start on the second day as the runners returned to the base camp with an outstanding natural view. A 34-year-old runner named Ananya, who completed the 50 km leg, said, “There were moments when I questioned whether I could go on,” her voice steady despite fatigue. “But then the trail opened into a valley so pristine, so untouched, I almost forgot the pain. This race doesn’t just push your body, it resets your mind.”
Ultribe Paderu 2025 proved a success, as the start times, ranging from 3:30 AM for long-run categories to 6:00 AM for short-run, allowed runners to avoid the heat in the midday. With help from local volunteers, medical support and hydration stations were placed along the route to help runners during the race.
For out-of-town runners, accommodation at the partner resort provided shelter before and after the run. Sponsors such as FAST&UP, RK Hospital, and Xparig contributed to nutrition, medical readiness, and post-race essentials, underscoring the collaborative spirit behind the undertaking.
The event was more than a race; the moment to connect with nature, with colloidal tribal landscapes, dense forests, and the sounds of streams, became a part of runners' experience for their running challenge.
The finishing was not just about the time, it's about enjoying the natural heritage, pushing personal boundaries, and celebrating endurance as this edition of Ultribe Paderu made it happen. For more info, visit https://www.ifinish.in/ and https://www.timingindia.com/
