The State Level Kids & Junior Athletic Championship 2026 – Kalam Golden Award has successfully ended with great enthusiasm and sporting spirit on February 7, 2026, at the Battalion Ground, Avadi, Chennai. The event was organised by Kalam Sports Academy. The event has brought young athletes from across Tamil Nadu. The event has energetic participation from junior athletes and children across multiple race categories. It was a truly inclusive platform, from pre-kg to the open category, for building sports talent.

Early exposure to athletics promotes physical fitness and identity, promising from the ground level. Registration for the event was managed by iFinish as the registration partner for participants, schools, coaches, and parents. Registrations were successfully closed on 6th February 2026, a day before the event, for all the participants. Many of the participants have reported to the venue by 8:00 AM, with flag off at 8:30 AM for the track events, and the Kalam Golden Relay is anticipated. The well-organised schedule ensured the seamless conduct of events throughout the day.

Many of the events have featured a line up of field events that are tailored for different age groups, including -
● Sprints: 30m, 50m, 80m, 100m, 200m, 400m
● Field Events: Shot Put, Long Jump, Cricket Ball Throw
● Skill Events: Hurdles Run, Hoops with Run
● Relay Events

Every participant can compete in three individual events per ticket to encourage exposure and experience. The event had a grand-prize distribution, for performances, and recognition for contributions from young athletes. All the winners were honoured with certificates, medals, and trophies, with special recognition as recipients of the Kalam Golden Award for outstanding achievements. Some prestigious titles, such as the Best School Award, Best Physical Education Teacher Award, and Best Coach Award, recognise institutions and mentors for their crucial role in encouraging athletes. Overall Championship Awards and Individual Champion Trophies were awarded to winners and runners-up, not only for athletic excellence but also for the collective efforts of schools, educators, and coaches in shaping the future of sport.
