Over 1000 Women participated in the 5th Starlight Strides Night Run 2025 in Hyderabad, celebrating women’s safety, fitness and empowerment through unity, community initiatives, and spirited participation.
 
Over 1,000 Women Shine at the 5th Edition of Starlight Strides Women’s Night Run 2025. Hyderabad runners, in association with the Society of Cyberabad Security Council, hosted the 5th edition of Starlight Strides- women’s night run 2025 at Gachibowli on Saturday night. This run illuminated the city streets with energy, unity, and purpose to celebrate women’s safety, fitness, and empowerment. Starlight Strides Women’s Night Run promotes the message of reclaiming safe space for women. The 2025 edition featured three race categories: 5K Fun Run, 10K Timed Run, and 5K Timed Run. The Society of Cyberabad Security Council provided robust on-ground support with 20 trained traffic marshals, ensuring smooth coordination and
safety of participants.

The run was flagged off by Ms. Srujana, DCP Women Safety; Mr. Kalyan, Director Kalamandir; and Mr. Arun Kumar, President of the Hyderabad Runners Society. Speaking at the event, DCP Ms. Srujana said, “It’s inspiring to see so many women participating in a night run dedicated exclusively to them.” Mr. Kalyan, Director of Kalamandir, added, “Women too can run with power and grace. Kalamandir is proud to support such meaningful initiatives.”

In the 5K category, Prathima Dadi emerged as the winner with a timing of 00:30:45, followed by Priyanka Tejomurtula in 00:32:04 and Suneetha Vamaraju in 00:33:16. In the 10K category, Vadde Navya claimed the top position, completing her run in 00:52:39, while Kanika Jain finished second with 00:59:58, and Mou Krishna Teja secured the third spot with a timing of 01:02:18.

As part of the ‘Gift a Run’ initiative, 30 complimentary registrations were offered to women from NGOs such as Nirman, encouraging wider community involvement and inclusivity. Another special highlight was the “Women’s Kouch25K,” a six-week structured training program by the Hyderabad Runners Society, which saw over 180 women completing their 5K graduation run under the guidance of 22 inspiring women mentors, who were felicitated on the occasion. The evening concluded with the much-loved “Run in Saree, Win Big” contest presented by Kancheepuram Varamahalakshmi Silks, where winners took home gift vouchers worth ₹2
lakh for their spirited participation in traditional attire.

The event was powered by the unwavering support of its sponsors and partners, who made this celebration of womanhood possible.
