As the Akshayakalpa Organic Circuit- edition 1 unfolded this morning, all the farmlands of Akshaykalpa’s R&D centre in Shadnagar became the scene of enthusiasm with the participants. The event was conceptualised for “Run For Farmers,” which brought together runners, walkers, children, seniors and nature enthusiasts to celebrate food, farming, and community.

The event was organised by Akshayakalpa Organic Farms and Foods, which offered 3K, 5K, and 10K distances, with a non-timed run welcoming participants of all ages from toddlers to grandparents. The event stood apart not for speed or competition, but for its purpose: reconnecting people with the origins of their food and honouring the farmers who grow it with care.

Running through living farms:
With the greenery background of trees, open fields, ponds, and fresh morning air, the run offered the opportunity to run through the regenerative farms. The staggered flag-offs, beginning with the 10K at 7:00 AM, followed by the 5K and 3K, ensured a smooth, relaxed flow, allowing participants to take in the scenery at their own pace. There was a dedicated category for non-runners to participate in the event.

More Than a Run: A Day on the Farm
What made the Akshayakalpa event was the hands-on farm experience. Participants were taken on guided farm walks, to petting areas, for bullock cart rides, for seed-ball workshops, for seed planting, for vegetable harvesting, and for poultry visits. These experiences made a tangible connection for the children to sustainable agriculture. With a farm-to-table philosophy, the participants were treated to breakfast and lunch prepared from akshayakalpa’s own farm vegetables and greens.

Thoughtful participation experience:
The event was graced by Mr Shashi Kumar, founder and ceo of Akshayakalpa. He addressed the participants about the importance of regenerative farming, farmer well-being and consumer awareness. He also discussed that sustainability begins with understanding how food is grown and valuing the hands that produce it. All participants received an event t-shirt, a finisher medal and a curated hamper of Akshaykalpa organic products to make the event memorable.
