The Hearing Centre, one of Singapore's longest-standing providers of hearing care, has reached a significant milestone: over 12,000 patients served across its network of clinics island-wide. The achievement reflects more than two decades of dedicated audiological care and underscores the growing need for accessible hearing health services in Singapore.
Founded in 2004, The Hearing Centre set out with a clear vision — to make quality hearing care both accessible and affordable for Singaporeans of all ages. Over the past 20+ years, that vision has translated into thousands of personal success stories: patients reconnecting with conversations at family gatherings, following along at noisy hawker centres, and simply enjoying the everyday sounds of life again.
"Reaching 12,000 patients isn't just a number to us — it represents 12,000 individual journeys back to clearer hearing and reconnection with the people and moments that matter most," said a spokesperson for The Hearing Centre.
A Patient-Centred Approach
Unlike a purely transactional model of device fitting, The Hearing Centre's approach centres on understanding each patient's lifestyle, communication needs, and long-term comfort. Its team of MOH-approved audiologists, all registered members of the Society of Audiology Professionals in Singapore (SAPS), conduct a comprehensive hearing test — including pure tone audiometry, ABR/ASSR, and tympanometry — before recommending a tailored hearing solution.
The clinic also offers home trials, allowing patients to test hearing aids in their real daily environments, whether at the office, at home, or out at a hawker centre, rather than relying solely on results from a controlled clinical setting.
'Trusted Partnerships and Comprehensive Care
The Hearing Centre works with leading international hearing aid brands, including Signia, Phonak, Starkey, ReSound, Oticon, and Rexton, giving patients access to the latest innovations in digital, rechargeable, and near-invisible hearing technology.
Beyond hearing aid fittings, the centre provides an end-to-end suite of services: hearing tests, tinnitus treatment, cochlear implant support, hearing aid repairs and adjustments, and ongoing aftercare — ensuring patients are supported well beyond their initial appointment.
Expanding Access Across Singapore
To reach this milestone, The Hearing Centre has grown its footprint to multiple locations across Singapore, including Orchard Road (Lucky Plaza), Ang Mo Kio, Tampines, Jurong (IMM), and Raffles Hospital, with an additional branch in Cambodia. This expansion has been central to the centre's mission of bringing hearing care closer to the communities that need it.
Looking Ahead
As hearing loss remains an often-overlooked health issue among Singaporeans — frequently developing gradually and going unnoticed until it affects daily life — The Hearing Centre continues to invest in awareness efforts, including a free 5-minute online hearing screening tool designed to help individuals recognise early signs of hearing loss and seek timely professional care.
"This milestone motivates us to keep raising the bar," the spokesperson added. "Our goal for the next chapter is simple: reach even more Singaporeans before hearing loss starts to affect their quality of life, and continue delivering care that goes beyond just fitting a device."
