Nagpur, 3 November: In a significant step toward globalizing defence education and strengthening future leadership capacity, the National Academy of Defence Production (NADP)—a unit of Munitions India Limited under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India—has entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Taksheela Institute of Education. The collaboration aims to broaden international academic exposure, promote global immersion programs, and elevate academic and professional development for the defence sector.
The MoU was formally signed at NADP, Nagpur, by Dr. Jyoti Prakash Dash, Principal Director of NADP, and Mr. Sumit Jalan, Director of Taksheela Institute of Education. The partnership marks an important chapter in NADP’s continuing commitment to nurturing globally competent professionals who can contribute effectively to India’s defence ecosystem.
As part of this initiative, NADP students, officers, and faculty will gain access to a wide range of international academic opportunities, including global immersion programs in countries such as Germany, France, Dubai, and Malaysia. Additional benefits include semester-exchange modules, joint academic pathways, virtual learning platforms, and one-to-one career mentorship. These programs are expected to provide deeper exposure to global pedagogies, cross-cultural learning, and strategic academic development.
This partnership is also aligned with national and international academic quality frameworks, including the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), and Times Higher Education (THE) global standards. By aligning NADP’s academic structure with these benchmarks, the initiative is expected to raise the overall quality, relevance, and global recognition of defence-related academic programs.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Dash emphasized the importance of the collaboration:
“The partnership with Taksheela reflects NADP’s commitment to strengthening Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat by providing world-class learning opportunities to future defence leaders. This initiative will play an important role in shaping global perspectives within the defence production sector.”
Mr. Sumit Jalan expressed his enthusiasm, acknowledging the institution’s responsibility in supporting India’s academic transformation:
“Taksheela Institute of Education is honored to collaborate with NADP. We are committed to helping defence professionals access international academic exposure and career-enhancing opportunities.”
The MoU will remain active for a period of three years and will be implemented through structured planning, coordinated program delivery, and ongoing feedback systems to maintain quality and strategic relevance. Joint academic activities, visiting-faculty exchanges, skill-development workshops, and global leadership programs will form a major part of the collaboration roadmap.
Strengthening International Academic Exposure
The partnership is expected to enhance NADP’s curriculum design by incorporating global insights, comparative academic practices, and exposure to advanced industrial technologies. Future initiatives may include specialized training modules, international conferences, interdisciplinary seminars, and collaborative publications, enabling NADP trainees to engage with international defence education trends.
Through this alliance, participants will also gain opportunities to learn from global academic thought leaders, moderating the gap between domestic defence training frameworks and international best practices. This step will also support India’s growing focus on defence modernization, skill enhancement, and cross-border academic exchange.
Role of Overseas Education Expertise in Defence Learning
As international academic requirements continue to evolve, specialized guidance becomes essential. Institutions such as Taksheela Institute of Education—also known for its work among Overseas Education Consultants in Kolkata—contribute knowledge regarding global study pathways, skill requirements, and international academic benchmarks. This experience helps in designing structured exposure programs suited for defence-oriented professionals.
The collaboration draws upon Taksheela’s broader experience as one of the established overseas education consultants, integrating insights from global higher-education systems into NADP’s academic environment. Such support frameworks help ensure clarity around program design, international credit recognition, and cross-cultural learning components.
Advancing India’s Defence Academic Vision
The NADP–Taksheela partnership aligns with India’s long-term objective of strengthening professional competence within defence manufacturing and management roles. By equipping future leaders with international exposure and global academic perspectives, the partnership supports national defence capability, innovation, and leadership development.
The collaboration further strengthens NADP’s role as a center of excellence under Munitions India Limited, complementing national missions like Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat 2047. Through structured global exposure, research-driven learning, and cross-border academic collaborations, the initiative is set to contribute meaningfully to India’s evolving defence education landscape.
