Dr. Sarraga was born and elevated in Puerto Rico, where he spent most of his life. Dr. Sarraga chose at an extremely early age to follow in his grandfather's footsteps and pursue a job in the art of medicine and surgery. Also before entering medical school, Dr. Sarraga was fascinated by surgery; he invested all his summers volunteering in the operating room at the Cardiovascular Center in Puerto Rico. After finishing his undergraduate studies in Chicago, he attended medical school at the University of Puerto Rico, where he obtained numerous awards including membership in the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honor society and being in the top 10 percent of his class.

Dr. Sarraga then completed a complete basic surgery residency at the Universty of Puerto Rico, where he was acknowledged as intern of the year during his teaching fellowship year. While training at the oncologic hospital, he was first revealed to breast repair. Soon after he chose that plastic surgery was his calls.
