National Disability Employment Awareness Month shines the spotlight on disabled Americans who are seeking employment, maintaining employment or looking to rejoin the workforce in a new field.

Partnerships with the Department of Labor started in March of this year, looking to help Americans with disabilities through an apprenticeship program, Apprenticeship Inclusion Model (AIM). The program focuses on creating opportunities for the disabled individual to earn family-sustaining wages. The proclamation of National Disability Employment Awareness Month was instituted and signed by the president on September 30, 2019.
