The European Union (EU) recently adopted a directive on the safety of offshore oil and gas operations, making sure that the highest safety standards will be followed at every oil and gas platform across Europe. It will ensure that companies react effectively and promptly should an accident ever occur, thus minimizing possible damage to the environment and the livelihoods of coastal communities. A number of historic disasters at offshore sites have created a need for safer and risk free operations for smooth and efficient functioning of people, processes and production. Bringing to attention these factors, and the various safety measures being taken at offshore sites, Fleming Gulf will be launching the Offshore Risk and Safety Forum taking place on 11 – 12 February, 2014 at Stavanger, Norway.

Themed as “Enabling People & Processes" this summit will bring together industry experts focusing on how companies can achieve goal zero through safer operations at offshore sites. Safety and risk management are key issues affecting all staff on offshore production facilities. The highly volatile nature and unpredictable properties of the product make the activity of offshore production, processing and storage very risky.
