Starting in 2026, the physical registration slip is no longer just a formality. A unique QR Code-based e-pass is now mandatory for entry into temple courtyards. This digital pass is scanned at multiple checkpoints, including Sonprayag and Janki Chatti, to monitor crowd density in real-time. Pilgrims without a valid, scanned QR code may be denied entry to the main Darshan lines.

2. Strict Daily Entry Limits (The Slot System)
To prevent the dangerous overcrowding seen in previous years, the government has implemented strict daily caps on the number of pilgrims allowed at each shrine, especially Kedarnath. These slots are allocated on a "first-come, first-served" basis during the registration process. If your travel dates do not match an available registration slot, you will not be allowed to proceed past the base camps.

3. Mandatory Health Self-Declaration & Screening
A new, detailed Health Declaration is now a core part of the registration portal. For senior citizens or those with pre-existing conditions (like BP or heart issues), a medical fitness certificate is highly recommended, as on-ground health screenings have become more rigorous at high-altitude transit points.
