Dehradun, Uttarakhand — June 11, 2026 — In a significant relief measure for medical aspirants, the Government of Uttarakhand has announced free travel on Uttarakhand Transport Corporation buses for candidates appearing in the NEET UG-2026 re-examination.

Under the order, permanent residents of Uttarakhand who are appearing for the re-exam will be able to travel free of cost on state-run ordinary-category buses. Candidates must present their NEET UG-2026 admit card to avail the facility.

The concession is valid from two days before the exam date until two days after the exam concludes, allowing candidates to travel from their home or current residence to the examination centre and back. The facility applies only to the route nearest to the exam centre and is limited to ordinary-class buses operated by the Corporation.

Transport Secretary Brijesh Kumar Sant has issued the necessary directions to the Managing Director of Uttarakhand Transport Corporation to implement the decision. Officials expect the move to ease travel difficulties for thousands of candidates during the examination period.

The initiative reflects the state administration's continued focus on supporting students and reducing logistical barriers for examinees across Uttarakhand.
