Gregory Richard Barden’s poetry book, Melancholy Moon, is a quiet companion for anyone who has ever loved deeply, lost completely, or found themselves rebuilding in the soft light of reflection.
Barden’s writing flows between the personal and the universal, drawing on the cycles of nature, memory, and renewal. As he reflects, “Death and life are the same thread—they tie us to the Great Unknown… Poetry is the creative endeavor to paint with words upon the canvas of time.”
That sentiment lives on every page of Melancholy Moon. It’s a work that transforms pain. The result is poetry that listens as much as it speaks, offering quiet consolation and luminous insight.
The collection brings together the themes of love, grief, and self-renewal into language that feels both intimate and eternal. Some poems read like letters to a lost lover; others, like prayers whispered into the night.
The poems highlight what happens after heartbreak, and how we continue to find beauty in the ruins. Barden’s strength lies in his ability to turn silence into sound — to make vulnerability feel like courage.
This is a book for dreamers, mourners, lovers — for anyone who has looked up at the night sky and felt both small and infinite.
Melancholy Moon is now available on Amazon.
